Sometimes it’s tough being the new kid on the block, but not when you have pizza that is out of this world. The newest addition to the Capitol Riverfront restaurant scene is Il Parco, a Neapolitan-style Italian restaurant located in Canal Park. Come stop by today to see what everybody is raving about!
Il Parco’s design is perfect for both a romantic dinner or a fun happy hour hangout with friends. The second you walk in the door, you notice a large wood-fired oven that serves as the backbone for the restaurant. The Acunto Napoli, which weighs over 7,000 lbs, is hand crafted in Italy with stone from Mt. Vesuvius and is then shipped directly from Naples to the U.S.
The oven, combined with the ingredients and cooking technique used by General Manager Nathaniel Gill and his staff, make Il Parco one of the few pizzerias in DC serving DOC pizzas.
The specialty at Il Parco is obviously their wood-fired Neapolitan pizza. The pizza is carefully cooked at a scorching 900 degrees and is ready in just minutes! The Diavola and the Marinara DOC are both packed with flavor and are two of our favorites.
Il Parco also serves salads, entrees, and desserts, with pasta dishes coming soon! Pictured below is a savory meatball dish served atop a bed of arugula with a side of homemade bread and a ricotta and olive combination. It was absolutely amazing!
Another awesome feature of Il Parco is its location in the Capitol Riverfront. During the warmer months, patrons can dine at the spacious outdoor patio and enjoy a view of a large fountain feature. When it’s cold outside, stop by the figure eight ice skating rink before you warm up inside with a delicious pizza. What other place in DC can offer that?
As part of the grand opening, during the week of 2/8 – 2/12, Il Parco is taking 50% off all pizzas until 4 PM. The week of 2/15-2/19, Il Parco will take 25% off your entire lunch check until 3 PM. Happy Hour is one thing that remains a constant, $5 drinks all day, every day!
