Over the next few months, we’re giving our residents (and future residents!) an opportunity to get to know the Park Chelsea team a little better with a series of Meet the Team posts! Today, we’re hearing from Park Chelsea Leasing Consultant Jamila on what brought her here, what she loves about the building and the neighborhood and what she’s up to when she isn’t hard at work!
How did you end up in DC?
I moved from Atlanta to DC two years ago. I was intrigued by the area because of the diversity, culture, and growing apartment/condo market. WC Smith was kindly enough to give me an opportunity to grow with the company and experience their growth with the housing market.
What made you want to come work at Park Chelsea/The Collective?
The new and vibrant area, along with a great leasing team is what made me want to work at Park Chelsea/The Collective. The Collective will also have 3 phases, which offers a huge variety of amenities to the residents. Park Chelsea/The Collective also offers spacious floor plans with great views and is conveniently located close to the waterfront.
When you’re not working at Park Chelsea, where can we find you?
You can find me relaxing with my dogs or exploring new sites in DC when I’m not working.
If Park Chelsea were a House of Cards/Scandal character, what would it be?
Park Chelsea would be Olivia Pope, who is the lead character on the show, Scandal. Park Chelsea is the leading property in the area with the best residents and amenities!
What are you Netflix-binging on right now?
All love movies are what I’m currently Netflix-binging on.
If you were to work from home, which Park Chelsea space would you choose?
I would work on our rooftop overlooking the monument, it’s a peaceful view.
When you want to unwind at the end of the day, where do you go?
I recently started salsa classes, so I enjoy unwinding while dancing.
How do you work on your wellness/fitness at Park Chelsea?
I enjoy working out on our Peloton bikes, which have virtual instructors.
How does life at Park Chelsea allow you to challenge yourself?
Park Chelsea allows me to challenge myself by giving me the opportunity to give my residents the best living experience possible.
Describe your perfect day at Park Chelsea:
My perfect day at Park Chelsea is being able to enjoy our residents and their pets. Seeing everyone happy really makes my day perfect!

What’s your favorite restaurant in the neighborhood and what do you order?
Scarlet Oak is my favorite restaurant in the area. I usually love to order their crab cake sandwich.
If Park Chelsea were a drink, what would it be?
Park Chelsea would be a White Peach Sangria, it’s classy and refreshing.
What’s a local organization doing good in our DC community that residents and readers should know about?
#Hashtag Lunchbag D.C. is one my favorite organizations.
Where is your favorite spot to grab lunch in the neighborhood?
Gordon Biersch is my favorite spot to grab lunch in the area. It’s a great place to watch the games and to meet new people in the neighborhood.
I had the pleasure of working with Jamila years ago, and I know just how amazing she is. Her attention to detail, genuine friendly personality, drive to help others, and her overall aura are amazing. I’m looking for a second residence in DC (my hometown), and I would be more than honored if she assisted me. Such a great person and outstanding worker.
