What’s New In The Capitol Riverfront: 2018 Update

The Capitol Riverfront neighborhood is constantly developing. New restaurants, shops, and services are popping up left and right. With all of the new additions to the neighborhood, the Capitol Riverfront has everything you need, with even more on the way! Here’s what has opened up recently, and what we can expect to open in the next few months.

Food and Beverage

Bethesda Bagels

For the best bagels in the neighborhood, we always head to Bethesda Bagels. Freshly made gourmet bagels, sandwiches, and other baked favorites are available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Everyone’s favorite fast-casual Mexican chain, Chipotle, has finally opened its doors in the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood. Burritos, burrito bowls, tacos, and salads made with real ingredients will have everyone’s stomach rumbling. Ordering online makes for an easy pickup and downloading their app will get you a free guacamole or queso.


Cava is the latest craze in the Capitol Riverfront. Create your own Mediterranean style grain bowl, salad, or pita with their delicious spreads, proteins, and toppings. The various choices allow you to create both healthy and savory options. Fast service, reasonable prices, and fresh ingredients make Cava one of our favorite lunch spots. If you are looking for more of an elaborate meal, Chloe is the place for you. The menu is made up of a variety of items with Middle Eastern, Western European, and Asian influence, which makes for a unique experience. The menu consists mostly of small to medium-sized plates, perfect for ordering several and sharing. Happy hour and weekend brunch are other ways to enjoy all that Chloe has to offer.

District Winery

We are thrilled about the opening of District Winery, D.C.’s first winery, in our very own neighborhood. The options to enjoy the winery are endless –  tour the space, visit the tasting bar, enjoy a meal at their restaurant Ana, or even host your own event. Whether you are looking for your next date night idea or post-work happy hour, District Winery should be at the top of your list.

The Juice Laundry

Having new healthy-eats options is something we will always get excited about. The Juice Laundry has cold-pressed juice, nut milk, smoothies, acai bowls, and more. They offer three different levels of juice cleanses as well – heavy, active, and deep – with a one, two, and three-day option. Rasa Indian Grill

Fast-casual Indian food? Sign us up. Rasa is one of our favorite additions to the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood. Whether you create your own bowl or choose one of their signatures, you are in for a meal full of flavor and fresh ingredients. The colorful and intricate décor give Rasa a unique ambiance and we can’t get enough of it.


With all of these fast-casual restaurants, deciding where to go for lunch is a tough decision. Roti, serving fast-casual Mediterranean, is another favorite to add to the list. Taylor Gourmet

Taylor Gourmet is our go-to spot whenever we are craving a hoagie. They use only the freshest ingredients: freshly baked bread, in-house braised and roasted meats, seasonal veggies, and homemade sauces. Philz Coffee

Personalized coffee crafted right in front of you sounds pretty great, right? Philz serves over 20 customized coffee blends while also giving customers a unique experience. Pastries, sandwiches, and snacks are served here as well. With a focus on delicious coffee and outstanding customer service, Philz has become a neighborhood hangout spot for Capitol Riverfront residents.

Barre3 offers a full body, low-impact workout that builds long and lean muscles, improves balance and posture, and increases energy. The barre3 method has influences from ballet barre, Pilates, and yoga, so you know it will be effective. The Capitol Riverfront studio is a close-knit community with motivating instructors that will help you reach your fitness goals.

Conte’s Bike Shop

Conte’s, a family run bike shop, has opened its doors in the Capitol Riverfront. Conte’s has been selected as one of the Top 100 Best Bicycle Retailers in the country – they sell bicycles of all sort, attire, and provide bike repair services. Visit them in the shop to learn more about their group rides and the races they support.

Cosmopolitan Nail Lounge

Cosmopolitan is the newest nail salon in the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood. The nail lounge always is always in pristine condition and the professional manicurists are experienced and friendly. Pacers Running

Runners, rejoice! Pacers has opened, bringing premier running gear to the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood. Whether you are looking for running attire, footwear, or accessories, the friendly staff will assist you in finding exactly what you need. Additionally, they offer morning and evening social runs, led by Pacers staff, for those looking socialize while on the move.


Get ready to shake and burn at Solidcore. This high-intensity, low-impact workout is no joke. Classes combine slow movements with resistance on the “sweatlana”, leading to muscle failure and major results. A variety of class times and class-pack options makes taking classes at Solidcore accessible for everyone. The coaches are extremely motivating and will guide you through every session.

Steadfast Supply

Steadfast Supply is a retail store that supports and promotes independent brands by housing them in their 3,000 square foot warehouse space. They act as an incubator, a place where independent brands can flourish. Their primary focus is on the community – connecting creative minds with the people of the Capitol Riverfront. In addition to housing over 60 brands, they host a variety of community events.


WeWork is a co-working space offering individual desks, office suites, and workspace for large teams. The Capitol Riverfront location is in a renovated luxury office building just one block away from the Navy Yard Metro station. Building amenities include onsite staff that acts as front-desk service and personalized support, cleaning services, business class printers, high-speed internet, professional and social events, and more. The workspace is comfortable, facilitating creativity and productivity.


Willow, a new clothing, and home gift shop, is upping the Capitol Riverfront retail game. The boutique specializes in women’s clothing, accessories, and home goods. Shopping for a loved one, or looking for something to treat yourself? There is no doubt Willow will have something special. We can’t get enough of their potted succulents and unique jewelry.
